Teacher arrested for kissing under-aged student
Loudon County, VA (TY) – A teacher at Sugarland Elementary School was arrested on Friday after police determined there was inapropriate contact between him and a student.
Robert A. Skiffington, 64, of Centreville has been charged with a Class 1 misdemeanor of simple assault and battery after an investigation determined that he had kissed a juvenile student on the mouth and cheek on multiple occasions during the 2018-2019 school year.
The misconduct was reported to Sugarland Elementary staff on May 15, 2019 who contacted a Loudon County Sherrif’s Office School Resource Officer.
The investigation was conducted in coordination with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit and the Loudon County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Skiffington was released from the Loudon County Adult Detention Center on a $3,500 unsecured bond.
