Frederick Keys Hosts All Star Game

Frederick, MD – The Carolina League All-Star Classic baseball was played Tuesday at the Frederick Keys’ own Nymeo Field.

The game represents the midway point of the minor league season, featuring players from all 10 teams of the North and South Carolina Leagues.

“These things are always a lot of fun,” Frederick Keys Manager Ryan Minor said. “These guys play hard and halfway through the season, they get rewarded with the chance to come to something like this.”

9 players from the Frederick Keys were selected to represent the Carolina North League, including pitcher Steven Klimek who said he was excited for a new experience.

“it’ll be really cool to be playing with guys from other teams,” Klimelk said. “you see how good they really are, and now we get to play with them.”

The All Star Classic featured various events inclduing a homerun and pitching contest, autographs with fans, and the Carolina North vs. South game.

The game ended with an 8-7 victory for the Northern Division All-Stars over the Southern Division All-Stars.
