Frederick Police Make Three Arrests for Shots Fired Incident

The suspects were taken into custody on Thursday.

Frederick, MD. (LG) Frederick Police arrested 3 individuals Thursday in connection to a shots fired incident. Authorities said the first incident happened in the 1400 block of Taney Avenue, where several vehicles had been struck by bullets. Police said another shots fired incident happened at the south end of the Frederick Shopping Center. Officers, detectives, and crime scene technicians worked together to conduct witness interviews and to search for and collect evidence.

Witnesses were able to describe the vehicle that the suspects were seen leaving in. Authorities said that vehicle was located off of Ballenger Creek Pike, and after a check of the license plate, it revealed that the car had been reported as stolen.

The suspects were later apprehended. They are identified as 19 year old Robert Shirley, 16 year old Kion Parker, and 17 year old Curtis Smith. All three are from Frederick.

Police said about an hour after the initial call for the gunshots being fired, staff at Frederick Memorial Hospital called to report that a juvenile had arrived in the emergency department with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. An investigation revealed that the juvenile had been shot during the incident near Taney Avenue and West 7th Street.
