Frederick Police Arrest 5th Suspect In Last Week’s Shootout

Frederick, Md (KM) A fifth suspect charged in connection with a shootout last week in Frederick was arrested in Hagerstown. Frederick Police say Richard Lee Thomas, 21,  was picked up on Wednesday morning in the 1100 block of Salem Avenue.

Investigators say they learned that Thomas was in Hagerstown at a home along Salem Avenue. They obtained a search and seizure warrant with the assistance of Hagerstown Police. . The Washington County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team gained entry into the home, where deputies located three individuals, including Thomas. They also confiscated several guns.

Thomas was transferred to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Authorities say at this time, five individuals have been arrested in connection with the shootout. They also say they’re trying to identify two other suspects in this case. If you have  information that could help, you’re  asked to contact Frederick Police. You can remain anonymous.
