Man Facing Child Pornography Charges Indicted Friday By Grand Jury

The panel also returned a supplemental indictment.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Six indictments were returned by the Frederick County Grand Jury on Friday. One of the individuals facing charges is Ryland Fletcher Young IV from Jefferson The panel charged Young with ten counts of promotion and distribution of child pornography, and 15 counts of possession of child pornography. These charges were for incidents which occurred between May 4th, 2018 to August 2nd, 2018.

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says this case was brought by the Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children task force working with local law enforcement. “So they had a report of somebody using at Tumblr account and uploading videos of underage minors unfortunately engaging in sexual acts with adult males,” he says.

Smith says police served a search and seizure warrant on Young’s home, and found numerous videos of child pornography images, including some on his cell phone.

The Grand Jury also issued a supplemental indictment against Terrance Dewayne Moore, 47, of Hagerstown, of possession of a large amount of fentanyl, about 5 grams or more. “This was a situation where he was  pulled over for speeding on I-70. There were multiple men in the car. A canine was called to the scene, alerted on the vehicle,” says Smith. Some deputies spotted some drugs in the vehicle. In all,   authorities confiscated 112 capsules of heroin, a capsule of cocaine and a vial of cocaine.

The traffic stop occurred on July 10th, 2018.

Another drug case before the Grand Jury was George Felipe Pacheco, 35, of Frederick. He’s charged distribution, distribution of drugs on school property, possession with intent to distribute on school property, possession, possession with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of paraphernalia for incidents which occurred between May 9th to June 3rd, 2019. “Unfortunately, for him, he sold cocaine to an undercover confidential informant in a school zone,” says Smith. “That led to a foot chase. They finally caught up with him. He tried to toss about 26 grams of cocaine into the back of parked pickup truck, but they did locate it.”

Other indictments which took plaice on Friday:

* Franklin Hart Corum, Jr,. 68, of Woodsboro, Md. He’s charged with distribution and possession with intent to distribute a heroin and fentanly mix; possession and possession with intent to distribute heroin; possession and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl; and possession and possession with intent to distribute cocaine for an incident which occurred on June 12th, 2019.

* Spencer Michael Shoemaker, 21, of Walkersville, Md. He’s charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia and cocaine; possession with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana  (10 grams or more); and driving while suspended for an incident which occurred on June 10th, 2019.

The indictments move these cases to Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilt
