One Injured In ATV Accident Friday In Washington County

State Police say the ATV driver was ejected.

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) A Hagerstown man was taken to the hospital following an ATV accident Friday morning in Washington County..

State Police say troopers responded at around 11:18 AM,  and learned that a Nissan Sentra operated by Gayle Grove of Harpers Ferry was traveling east on Route 40 prior Route 66 when an ATV drove out on to the roadway. Grove could not stop, and struck the ATV operated by George Newman of Hagerstown. Newman was ejected.

He take transported to Meritus Medical Center..

Troopers say the investigation into this crash is continuing, but it does not appear that intoxication or  distracted driving are factors in this incident..

The roadway was closed for a few hours for clean up, and an investigation.  Route 40 was reopened at 1:22 PM.
