Marriottsville, Md (KM) A one-vehicle crash in Marriottsville Friday afternoon claimed the life of a Sykesville man.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says police, fire and rescue responded to Marriottsville Road #2 just after 1:00 PM for an overturned vehicle in a stream. A state trooper was first on the scene, where a Red Chevrolet SUV had left the roadway and overturned, .landing upside down in a stream. The sole occupant of the vehicle was unconscious.
The trooper and a Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy entered the stream to keep the individual’s head above water while fire and rescue extricated him.
Resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful and the occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. He’s identified as Robert H. De-Coursey, Jr., 30. .
