Maryland Women Pronounced Dead from Hyperthermia Related Issues While Hiking

The death was ruled as accidental with Hyperthermia being a contributing factor.

Potomac, MD – A woman has died after suffering a medical emergency while hiking in Montgomery County on Saturday.

Rachel Parkerson, 32, of Severn, Maryland was found unconscious around 1:55 p.m. by US Park Officials on the Billy Goat Trail in Potomac, Maryland.

Montgomery County Fire performed CPR and Parkerson was transported to Suburban Hospital via helicopter where she was pronounced dead by hospital staff.

The death was ruled as accidental with Hyperthermia being a contributing factor.
