Marriottsville, Md (KM) The investigation continues into a serious crash Tuesday morning involving a bicycle and a truck.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says at around 7:37 AM deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to Marriottsville Road and Forest Hill Road for a collision between a truck and a bicycle. They learned that Jeffery Wicklein, 42, of Marriottsville was riding his bike along Marriottsville Road # 2 when he attempted to make a right turn on to Forest Hill Road. Wicklein turned wide and entered the path of the truck operated by Woerner Preston, 72, also of Marriottsville. Deputies say Preston appeared to be slowing down his vehicle as it approached the intersection.
Wicklein was medivaced to Shock Trauma following the collision; Preston was taken to Howard County General Hospital.
The collision is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit. Anyone who has information on this crash is asked to contact Corporal Miller at [email protected].
