County highway officials say a warning portal was damaged by a vehicle.
Thurmont, Md (KM) Roddy Road south of the covered bridge is closed. The Frederick County Office of Highway Operations says the over-height warning portal was damaged by a vehicle on August 11th, and repairs need to be made.
Officials say the road could reopen later this week after repairs have been completed. .
The historic covered bridge was not damaged, according to the Office of Highway Operations.
