Bystanders were not able to pull the woman from the burning vehicle
Kearneysville, WV (DG) – A fiery crash in Jefferson County, West Virginia leaves one woman dead.
The crash happened early Sunday morning in Kearneysville. Police say two cars collided at 2:30 AM in the 500 block Old Leetown Road.
Tiffany Colangelo, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. Dante McCarroll Jr., 22, was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the other car, David Weister, 41, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police report McCarroll was driving on Leetown Rd when he entered an “S curve” and went into the other lane of travel, striking the vehicle driven by Weister.
McCarroll’s car ignited into flames. Bystanders were able to pull McCarroll out of the vehicle but were unable to free Colangelo.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
