Sanctuary Cities, 287g Not On Council Agenda Tuesday Night

Officials say they’re responding to ‘misinformation.’

Frederick, Md (KM) Citing misinformation regarding Tuesday night’s agenda, County officials say  “referencing Frederick County becoming a sanctuary city” or the Sheriff’s Office’s administration of the 287-g program will not be topics of discussion by the County Council. That’s according to a news release issued by Regan Cherney, the Council’s Chief of Staff and Legislative Director.

The Board will take comment on the proposed Livable Frederick plan during its public hearing starting at 7:00 PM.

Council President M.C. Keegan-Ayer has said she and her colleagues will discuss the 287-g program with the Sheriff in the future, but no specific date has been scheduled.
