Four Injured in Crash on I-70

I-70 closed for three hours

Hagerstown, Md. (DG) – A 4-vehicle accident closed down Interstate 70 westbound near Route 40 in Hagerstown.

The crash was reported Thursday at around 5:20 PM when traffic was extremely slow by exit 32.

Maryland State Police report a tractor trailer tried to slow down quickly but the truck slid and jacknifed, and struck a pick-up truck and passenger vehicle. The passenger vehicle then hit an SUV.

Four people were taken to Meritus Medical Center for treatment.

I-70 was closed for three hours for clean-up. Traffic was detoured onto Route 40.
