Frederick County Man Charged With Murder in West Virginia

The man killed a 28 year old woman

Charles Town, WV (DG) – A Frederick County man has been charged with murder for fatally shooting a West Virginia woman.

Charles Town Police responded to a call for shots fired at an apartment on North West Street on Saturday night at around 11:30 p.m.

After entering the apartment, police found 28-year-old found Taylor Pond dead from a gunshot wound.

Investigators determined Pond was shot by 28-year-old Elliott De John Landsdowne of Jefferson, Maryland. He fled the scene before police arrived.

Landsdowne was later taken into custody at his home by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

Police also charged 20-year-old Emma Phillips of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia with being an accessory after the fact.

The investigation into the shooting is continuing.
