Tractor Trailer Crash Closes WB I-70 Ramp To WB I-68

State Police say no one was hurt.

 

Hancock, Md (KM) State Police in Hagerstown closed the westbound Interstate 70 ramp to westbound  I-68 on Tuesday afternoon following a tractor trailer crash.

Shortly after 1:00 PM, troopers say a truck pulling an empty trailer was traveling westbound on I-70 when the driver lost control of the vehicle while rounding the curve on the ramp to westbound I-68. Both the truck and the trailer entered the woods. The truck remained upright, but the trailer partially overturned, coming to rest in the wooded area.

Emergency workers responded to the scene to pump out the unused diesel fuel from the truck. There were no injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer is identified as Michael E.  Fowler,28, of Parkersburg, West Virginia. State Police say charges are pending.

State Troopers were assisted in this incident by Hancock Police, Hancock Fire and Rescue, the Hagerstown Fire Department and the Maryland State Highway Administration.
