Man Arrested in Connection to Downtown Frederick Shooting

A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Frederick, MD – Four people were injured during a shooting early Saturday morning in downtown Frederick, According to the Frederick Police Department .

Officers responded to reports of gunshots around 1:30 a.m. to the area of the 600 block of North Market Street where they located an adult female with a gunshot wound.

She was transported to a nearby hospital and officers learned two men and a woman were also shot and had arrived at the hospital through other means.

Police arrested a man located close to the scene.

34-year-old Bryant Helon McMillon, Jr. was found alone in a van located in a parking lot near the shooting scene.

Police located a loaded handgun and a quantity of marijuana in the van.

McMillan is currently incarcerated at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
