Hagerstown, Md. (DG) – A Hagerstown man was arrested Wednesday for an arson threat.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office has charged Justin Hunter, 30, with threat of arson.

Police were called to the 9600 block of Morning Glory Lane in Hagerstown on September 4, 2019, for a report of a brush fire.

Hunter’s mother told police that her son was burning items from their home, which he shared with his parents. When the mother tried to intervene, Hunter threatened to burn the house down while he had a lighter and charcoal lighter fluid in his possession.

Hunter made the same threat to his father, and the parents called police.

Hunter was arrested for threat of arson and is being held without bond.
