Bond Given to Former School Employees Charged With Sex Abuse

The abuse happened at the Jefferson School and involved two girls

Frederick, Md. (DG) – Three former employees of the Jefferson School who were charged with sexually abusing two students had a bond review hearing Thursday in Frederick County Circuit Court.

The judge set bond for Ariel Eppard and Wesley Dean at $25,000. Jermaine Thomas was given a $50,000 secured bond.

Prosecutors say the crimes that took place while they worked as student supervisors at the Jefferson School, a private school for students with emotional and behavioral issues.

The allegations came to light in June, when one of the victims told a staff member at the Jefferson School about the abuse.

Police say the abuse started late in 2018 and continued through 2019.

Prosecutors say there may be more victims of abuse at the school.
