The CDC reports almost 60,000 cases of epilepsy in Maryland
Frederick, MD – A walk to End Epiliepsy is coming to Frederick this Fall hoping to raise funds and awareness.
Sponsored by the Epilepsy Foundation, the event features a walk through Baker Park, kids activities and opportunities to meet with doctors and researchers.
“This walk is significant because we really need to raise awareness and funding to help people that live with epilepsy,” Executive Director of the Maryland Epilepsy Foundation Mary Wontrop said. “For many years epilepsy has been on of those conditions that has not been talked about.”
Wontrop said one in ten people will have a seizure in their lifetime and one in 26 will be diagnosed with epilepsy.
The walk begins at 12:30PM at the Bandshell Area in Baker Park. More information can be found at WalktoEndEpilepsy.org
