Team did not have enough players
Frederick, Md. (DG) – The varsity football season is over at Governor Thomas Johnson High School.
The team canceled its varsity football season after injuries left it with not enough players.
This year the team started with 22 players on it’s roster, but after their first game that number was reduced to 14.
The junior varsity team is still playing football and the school got a special waiver allowing juniors to play on the team.
The school hopes to be able to have a varsity team next season.
