Frederick Police Take to the Rooftop to Support Special Olympics

The event will take place on the roof of Dunkin Donuts on West Patrick Street.

Frederick, MD – Officers of the Frederick Police Department aren’t afraid of heights and will prove it next weekend as they take to the rooftop of Dunkin’ Donuts to raise money for athletes of the Maryland Special Olympics.

Cops on Rooftops is a national fundraising event dedicated to supporting the year-round sports opportunities for children and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

“We really appreciate all of the effort the community puts into these programs,” Michele Bowman of the FPD said. “All of [the money] will go to Special Olmpics Maryland.”

The Frederick Police Department raised over $3,000 last year for the program.

Officers will be on the rooftop of the Dunkin Donuts on 1296 West Patrick Street October 18 and 19 from 7AM-2PM.
