The cause is under investigation.
Washington, MD – Washington County firefighters responded to reports of a mobile home fire Sunday night that resulted in the death of a male occupant.
The fire was located at 13102 Goldizen Lane in Clear Spring and caused an estimated $125,000 in damages.
The Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company reported the fire around 11:30pm and nearly 60 firefighters responded to the incident.
A female occupant of the home awoke to the smoke alarm and evacuated safely. One man was injured trying to extinguish the blaze and was transported to the Burn Center at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
The blaze was put out after 45 minutes and a deceased male occupant was found in the rear bedroom.
The names of the individuals have not been released. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
