Frederick County Man Sentenced To More Than 12 Years For Enticing Teens To Produce Child Pornography

He will be place on lifetime supervision after he’s released.

Baltimore, Md (KM) An Adamstown man is going away to federal prison for a long time. In US District Court in Baltimore on Thursday, Jake Tyler Patterson, 21, was sentenced to more than 12-years for coercion and enticement of minors to engage in illegal sexual activity to produce child pornography.

Federal officials say he posed on social media as a 15 to 16-year-old girl who resided outside of Maryland, and encouraged boys to send him sexually explicit files. He established on line relationships with the boys, some ranging in age from 12 to 15 years, and also initiated sexually explicit conversations with him. The US Attorney’s Office says as part of his enticement, Patterson sent the boys sexually explicit files displaying female genitals. He also sent the victims gift cards from Amazon, iTunes, Xbox and PlayStation.

His victims lived in Colorado, Michigan, Texas and Maryland.

US Attorney for Maryland Robert Hur says one alert parent checked their child’s smartphone, found the sexually explicit photos, and called the police. “That call may have prevented more children from being abused by this predator,” Hur says in a statement.

As part of his sentence, Patterson will be placed on lifetime supervised released after he gets out of prison, and must register as a sex offender where he’s a student, or takes a job.

“Patterson, like many criminals, took advantage of the anonymity of the Internet to pose as a minor female and solicit young boys to send him sexually explicit videos,” Hur says. “Now he will serve over 12 years in federal prison where there is no parole, ever.:”
