House In Carroll County Damaged By Basement Fire Saturday Morning

The blaze is ruled accidental.

 

Woodbine, Md (KM) A basement fire on Saturday morning damaged a home in Carroll County.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says fire fighters responded to the one-alarm fire in the 5524 Woodbine Road in Woodbine at around 10:14 AM, and spent 20-minutes bringing the flames under control. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $15,000 to the structure, but there is no damage estimate for the contents. .

Authorities say the fire originated in the basement and was discovered by a family member.

An investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire was accidental, the result of combustible materials ignited by a heater.
