One Person Suffers Burns Following Fiery Crash Sunday Morning

State Police say alcohol is a factor in this collision.

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) A Myersville man was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore following fiery crash in Frederick County early Sunday morning.

State Police say a call went out at around 2:15 AM for a collision along Interstate 70 at Braddock Mountain. . The first arriving trooper on the scene saw a Toyota 4Runner overturned and on fire. A passenger identified as Jessie McMullen.21. was also in flames. The trooper used his fire extinguisher to put out the flame on McMullen, and removed him   from the vehicle. He had third-degree burns.

The driver of the 4Runner identified a Tyler Kisner, 25, of Myersville was taken to Frederick Health Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

State Police say a preliminary investigation has determined the 4Runner was traveling eastbound on I-70 when it veered off the road, and struck a guardrail on the right shoulder, causing it to overturn. Alcohol is considered a factor in this collision.

I-70 at Braddock Mountain was closed for about 45-minutes due to the collision.

The investigation is continuing and anyone who has information about  this crash is asked to contact State Police in Frederick at 301-600-4150.
