The victim was identified by Deputies as Ray Angell Copenhaver, an 87 year old male from Taneytown
Taneytown, MD 11/27/2019 (RD) Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS personnel responded Tuesday evening about 6 PM to the 4000 Block of Francis Scott Key Highway in Taneytown, for a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, deputies located the victim and identified him as Ray Angell Copenhaver, an 87 year old male from Taneytown.
The striking vehicle was identified as a 2004 GMC Envoy operated by a juvenile who remained on scene and attempted to render aid.
The juvenile did not report any injuries at the time of the collision.
The victim was transported to Shock Trauma Center where he was later pronounced deceased. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and is continuing the investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time.
