That section of the roadway has been closed for a long period of time.
Frederick, MD – Following eight months of delays and over $21 million, the new bridge on Monocacy Boulevard has been scheduled to open next week.
Monocacy Boulevard between Gas House Pike and Schifferstadt Boulevard and East Church Street has been closed since October 2017 and was scheduled to open this spring.
The date was pushed back to April by project contractor Milani Construction, and was later rescheduled for October.
According to a Wednesday press release, Milani announced the road will open December 12.
The improvement work on that stretch of Monocacy Boulevard includes the construction of a second bridge over the Monocacy River, the addition of more than 3500 feet of road along a four-lane arterial road and the installation of a new traffic signal at Monocacy Boulevard and Gas House Pike.
