Carroll County Cemeteries to Honor Veterans

The event is called Wreaths Across America.

New Windsor, MD – A national project is taking place this Saturday, with cemeteries across the nation laying wreaths to honor deceased veterans.

Wreaths Across America takes place at over 1,600 cemeteries in a coordinated ceremony of laying wreaths to honor fallen service members.

Tammy Ray is the Community Relations Manager at Babylon Vault Company and said several cemeteries in Carroll County are participating.

“We have expanded this year,” Ray said. “We have 15 cemeteries that are official.”

The event takes place this Saturday December 14, at 12pm, with the ceremonies happening simultaneously across the country.

The Carroll County cemeteries participating event are at the following locations:

Meadow Branch Cemetery
Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery
St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery
Uniontown Church of God Cemetery
Mt Joy Cemetery
St James Cemetery
Western Chapel Cemetery
First Church of God Cemetery
Pine Grove Chapel and Cemetery
Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery
Pleasant Valley Cemetery
St John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery
Linganore United Methodist Church Cemetery
