Monocacy River Bridge Scheduled To Open Thursday

It had been scheduled to open earlier this year.

Frederick, Md (KM) It appears the Monocacy Boulevard bridge over the Monocacy River is expected to reopened late Thursday. The contractor, Milani Construction, had scheduled a ribbon cutting at 10 AM.

Monocacy Boulevard near Gas House Pike was closed in October, 2017. It had been scheduled to reopen in October of this year, but that was pushed back. Mayor Michael O’Connor told WFMD News a few weeks ago the contractor was planning to stripe the roadway and add a traffic signal in the area, which he said was a good sign.

The project included widening more than 35-hundred feet of the road to four lanes, and the construction of a second bridge, along with a new traffic signal at Monocacy Boulevard and Gas House Pike.
