Frederick, Md (KM) An Acting Director has been named for the Frederick Community Action Agency. Janet Jones has been appointed to the post, replacing Mike Spurrier who has let go recently.
Jones began working for the FCAA in 1995 as a Clinic Outreach Worker, and is currently the Assistant Director of Medical Services. She earned her Master’s Degree in Health Administration form Mount St. Marys University, and her Bachelor’s degree in sociology from Towson State University. Jones also holds an Associate degree in Criminal Justice from Frederick Community College.
In a news release, the City says Jones is involved in the community as a Board member of the Frederick County Health Care Coalition, and an active member of numerous other coalitions and committees.
Mayor Michael O’Connor, in that same news release, says the Community Action Agency will benefit from Jones’ experience as the city looks for a permanent director.
