Six Candidates For Board Of Ed Vacancy Interviewed On Friday By County Council

These interviews are posted on line, and will be broadcast on FCG-TV.

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Six candidates for the upcoming Board of Education vacancy were interviewed behind closed doors on Friday by the Frederick County Council. The six who were chosen from the 17 who applied rare Tracy Dunheimer, Rae Gallagher, Susan Johnson, April Miller, Ron Peppe and Caleb Rose; Miller and Peppe are former members of the Board of Ed.

These interviews will be broadcast on the County’s government channels 19 and 1085 on Saturday, Dec. 14th from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM; Sunday, Dec. 15th, at 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM;  Monday, Dec, 16th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM; and Tuesday, December 17th at 8:00 AM. They will also be webcast a on www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/FCGTV. The interviews are available for viewing on line at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/BOEVacancy..

The Council will accept public comment regarding the candidates for the School Board on Tuesday, December 17th at 7:00 PM in the first floor hearing room of Winchester Hall. After that, Council members are expected to vote on three of the six whose names will be sent to the County Executive for her consideration.

The County Executive will pick one candidates and send that person’s name back to the Council for vote. The individual chosen will fill an unexpired term on the Board of Education which ends in December, 2020

The vacancy was created when Board of Ed member Joy Schaefer stepped down to become Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy in the County Executive’s office.
