Hagerstown Police Charged Man With Displaying A Gun At A Wal Mart

He was taken into custody Friday morning.

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) A Hagerstown man has been charged with theft less than $1500, armed robbery, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and a weapons offense for an incident Thursday evening at the Wal Mart on Garland Gro Boulevard. Shawn Mark Ellington, 33, was taken into custody Friday morning.

Police say they were dispatched to the store at around 8:30 PM for complaints about a man with a gun. Officers were told a man received gift card for the price of an item he returned. After giving the man the gift card, a sales clerk inspected the box and found it was empty. He asked the man to give the card back, but he refused. As the man was leaving the store, he displayed a handgun. He was last seen headed on foot along Garland Gro Boulevard.

Police say the man was later identified as Ellington and charges were filed against him,
