Four Inmates Hurt In Prison Van Crash

Maryland State Police are investigating.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Four Maryland prison inmates were injured as the result of a vehicle crash in Frederick County Tuesday morning.

State Police say the four were passengers in a Division of Corrections van traveling along Route 26 near Buffalo Road. The van’s driver tried to make a U-turn and was struck by a dump truck.

Three of the inmates were taken to Frederick Health Hospital to be treated for their injuries; a fourth was transported by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown for treatment of his injuries. . The drivers of both vehicles were not hurt.

The investigation into this crash is continuing.

Traffic was delayed briefly following the crash, according to state troopers.
