Construction began in 2018.
Frederick, Md (KM) The City of Frederick says the roundabout under construction at Christophers Crossing which connects Walter Martz Road and Poole Jones Road is expected to open next week. Construction on the roundabout began in the fall of 2018. Officials say the roundabout is scheduled to open to traffic on Friday, January 24th, but the city will issue an update 24-hours before it that happens.
The roundabout connects the endpoint of Christophers Crossing between the Clover Ridge community to the intersection of Walter Martz Road and Poole Jones Road. The contractor, C. William Hetzter, will be installing a stormwater management facility in the next week to finish the project. Work has been completed on the base asphalt and curbs. Temporary pavement markings and traffic pattern signs have been installed, according to a news release from Frederick City officials.
Christophers Crossing will extend from U.S Route 15 north of Frederick to U.S Route 40 in the west of the city. Officials say the connection of Poole Jones Road, Walter Martz Road and Christophers Crossing is scheduled for completion by the beginning of June, 2020, and that’s ahead of schedule, officials say.
