Frederick, Md (KM) A public hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 30th by the Frederick County Charter Review Commission. Citizens can testify beginning at 7:00 PM in the third floor hearing room at Winchester Hall.
“The Commission continues to encourage the public to take an active role in all aspects of our Charter review process,”: says Commission Chairperson Stephen Slater, in a statement.. “We look forward to receiving feedback on our recommendations for changes to County Charter.”
The Charter Review Commission was established by the County Council to review and make recommendations concerning Frederick County’s Charter. County officials say the Commission’s mission is to make sure the Charter is clear in its meaning, addresses the needs of the local government and remains a functioning document for the efficient operation of county government.
The Commission’s final report is due the County Council on or before February 28th, and officials say any e-mail comments received after February 3rd will not be considered.
