Suspect Arrested In Hagerstown Shooting

Police say he’s  a juvenile charged as an adult.

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) Hagerstown Police have arrested a juvenile in connection with a shooting Wednesday night. Christopher Love, Jr. 17, is charged as an adult with attempted 2nd-degree murder, 1st-degree assault, 2nd degree assault, malicious destruction of property, having a handgun on his person, possession of a firearm by a minor, illegal possession of ammunition, illegal possession of a regulated firearm and the use of a firearm in a crime of violence.

Authorities say Love is charged following the shooting which occurred in the 500 block of George Street. Officers responded to that area shortly after 7:00 PM on Wednesday  for a shots fired incident, and found evidence that a firearm had been discharged. .

As officers were securing the scene, a man appeared at the Meritus Medical Center with gunshot wounds. The individual who was shot remains at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There were no other injuries, and police say this incident appears to be a targeted event.

In addition to one person shot, three unoccupied vehicles were   damaged by gunfire.
