The man crossed the center line and drove into a vehicle – killing a 71-year-old woman
Hagerstown, Md. (DG) – A Washington County man has been charged with DUI after a 71-year-old Hagerstown woman was killed in a crash on Saturday afternoon.
The accident happened on Eastern Boulevard near Antietam Drive when 29-year-old Ivan Canas of Hagerstown crossed the center line and hit a northbound vehicle driven by Sandra Vollmer. Police say she died on scene.
Canas is facing charges including homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol. He is being held at the Washington County Detention Center.
