Westminster, MD. – (RD) – The Carroll County Sheriff’s office is investigating the death of an inmate at the local detention center.
Authorities say Correctional Deputies found Nicholas Cirillio, 37, of Delaware in Medical Distress a little before 11:00 AM Wednesday. Officers performed life saving procedures on Cirillio until the arrival of medics from Westminster Emergency Medical Service. Efforts to revive Cirillio continued until about 11:40 AM when he was pronounced dead. .
Mr. Cirillo was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore to determine the cause of death.
No other inmates were housed with Cirillio at the time of the incident.
Detectives from the Carroll County Sheriff’s office have begun an investigation into the incident.
