The midshipman was from Walkersville
Annapolis, MD – The Naval Academy has identified the midshipman who was found dead inside a dormitory as 22-year-old David Forney, a Walkersville, Maryland, native who was set to graduate in just three months.
The academy says midshipmen, faculty and staff at the campus were told of the death Friday morning. Counseling services are being offered. The student was found unresponsive Thursday night in Bancroft Hall, the academy’s dorm in Annapolis.
The cause of death is being investigated. The academy says foul play is not suspected.
Earlier this month, a midshipman died while taking a physical readiness test at the academy.
