Walkersville, Md. (DG) – On Sunday a memorial service was held for David Forney, the Naval Academy student who was found dead in his dorm room last week in Annapolis.
Family, friends, and community members gathered at Heritage Farm Park to celebrate his life.
Forney was a member of the senior class and an offensive lineman on the Navy’s football team. He was found unresponsive in his dorm room Thursday night. The cause of death is being investigated but officials said foul play is not suspected.
Forney was a political science major and reported to the academy in 2016.
