Hagerstown Man Arrested For Armed Robbery In Frederick

The suspect was handcuffed after a foot chase

Frederick, Md. (DG) – A foot chase leads to a robbery suspect being apprehended.

Frederick Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the area of Willowdale Drive and Key Parkway Saturday morning at around 6:10 a.m.

Police learned during their investigation a man approached the victim, displayed what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded money. After getting cash, the suspect fled on foot. No one was injured.

A short time later in the area of the 1200 block of West Patrick Street officers located a subject matching the description of the robbery suspect. After a short foot chase, police took Anthony Denard James into custody.

James is charged with armed robbery, robbery, theft, use of a handgun in commission of a violent crime, handgun on person, possession of regulated firearm while under 21, and loaded handgun on person.
