Va. Woman Medivaced After Being Struck By A Train

It occurred at the MARC station in Point of Rocks.

 

Point  of Rocks, Md (KM).  A  woman was medivaced to Shock Trauma Thursday morning after being struck by a train at the MARC station in Point of Rocks.

State Police in Frederick say  Natalie Green, 36, of Waterford, Virginia, was crossing  the pedestrian walkway to get the platform at the station when she was struck by a freight train carrying vehicles.  She was treated by fire and rescue  personnel before being transported to the hospital, where she’s receiving treatment for  her injuries.

Troopers say a conductor and engineer were on board the train at the time.  They told investigators they sounded the train’s audible signal before the incident.  Witnesses confirmed that, according to State Police

The incident remains under investigation.  CSX Police and management were on the scene to assist.

State Police say the train line involved in this incident remains closed.  All other nearby lines remain open.
