Strawbridge Home for Boys Damaged By Fire

Authorities say the fire was discovered by neighbors and the building was vacant at the time.


Eldersburg, Md. (DG) – A fire in Carroll County on Friday evening caused over $500,000 to a building.

Emergency crews in Carroll County responded to a fire at the Strawbridge Home for Boys in the 5700 block of Strawbridge Terrace in Eldersburg shortly before 8 PM.

The one alarm fire took 60 minutes to bring under control by 75 firefighters.

Authorities say the fire was discovered by neighbors and the building was vacant at the time.
