Senior Centers In Frederick County Closed Till Further Notice

The county says it’s to prevent the spread  of the coronavirus.

 

Frederick, Md (KM).  Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner announced on Thursday that all senior centers in the county are closed until further notice.  She says this is to prevent the spread of the coronavirus among those 60 and older.

Senior Centers in Frederick County are located in Frederick, Brunswick, Emmtsburg and Urbana.  All activities and programs are canceled until further notice.

But county officials say the Meals on Wheels program will continue to deliver two meals a day to homebound adults, Monday through Friday.  Adults of any age with a chronic heath condition or disability who live in Frederick County and meet the program guidelines can take part in the Meals on Wheels program.

The Senior Services Division’s office will remain open and staff will be available to answer questions.  Citizens can call 301-600-1234, or go on line to www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/seniorservices.
