Authorities took some fingerprints from the deceased.
Kearneysville, WV (KM) The death of a man whose body was found Wednesday morning in a rural area of Jefferson County, West Virginia is being treated as a homicide.
The Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to the area of Smith Road and Ward Clipp Road in Kabletown at around 7:45 AM for a deceased man. Some fingerprints were recovered from the victim, and the FBI was able to make a preliminary identification,but that information is not being released at this time. . Investigators believe that this man is not a local resident.
The body was found in a very rural section of the county. There is no housing nearby.
The man’s body was taken to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Maryland State Police assisted on Wednesday night inĀ talking with persons in Maryland about this victim.
The investigation is continuing into this incident, and anyone who may have information, especially about missing persons or any abandoned vehicles, or saw suspicious activity in the area of Smith Road and Ward Clipp Road, is asked to contact the Jefferson County, West Virginia Sheriff’s Office.
