MVA Branch Offices To Close Friday At 4:30 PM

Officials say it’s  to protect public health & safety during the COVID-19 emergency..

 

 

Glen Burnie, Md (KM) The Maryland Department of Transportation says all Motor Vehicle Administration offices will be closed starting at 4:30 PM on Friday, and will remain closed until further notice. The agency says this action is being taken to help protect public health and safety during the coronavirus emergency.

MDOT says   MVA kiosks will be still be available, and citizens can complete a number of transactions on line at mva.maryland.gov.

All previously scheduled appointments have been canceled, the MVA says.

Services located inside MVA offices, such as the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Natural Resources, E-ZPass, the Transportation Worker Identification Credential program (TWIC) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), will not be available during this closure.

“We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding as we take appropriate steps to limit the impact of this unprecedented health crisis,” says MVA Administrator Chrissy Nizer, in a statement. “Safety is always our top priority at MDOT MVA. Right now, the key to promoting safety is encouraging our customers and employees to stay home.”
