2nd Case Of Coronavirus In Washington County Reported

The man in his 30’s is recovering at home

Hagerstown, Md. (DG) – The Washington County Joint Information Center announced the second confirmed case of coronavirus in Washington County.

The person is a man in his 30’s, who is in good condition with mild symptoms and is recovering at home.

On Saturday officials said a woman in her 50’s was the county’s first case of COVID-19. The woman is in good condition with mild symptoms and is recovering at home.

Washington County authorities say they are aware of a coronavirus patient from Montgomery County who was visiting Washington County and has since passed away. This is the third death attributed to COVID-19 in the State of Maryland.

The Washington County Health Department is working with Maryland Department of Health to identify possible exposures.

Meritus Health released a statement over the weekend saying no visitors will be permitted at the hospital.
