One Person Has Died From Last Friday’s ‘Pop Up Street Race Event’

The Sheriff’s Office says the  individual was taken off life support on Sunday, and passed away.

 

Frederick, Md (KM).  The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says one person involved in a “Pop-Up Street Race Event” on Friday evening along Clemsonville Road has died.  Michael Fritz, 22, was taken off life support on Sunday, and died from his injuries.

Authorities say Fritz and John Wittingon, Jr., 19, were in the rear  of a flatbed pickup truck traveling southbound  along Clemsonville Road when it went off the road, spinning its tires, and then back on the road while still spinning its tires.  Fritz, Wittington and third person  fell off the truck.  Fritz and Wittington were  both were taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

The Sheriff’s Office says Wittington’s condition  is continue to improve.
