It was an elderly woman with no known medical conditions.
Hagertown, Md (KM) Washington County is reporting its second death from the coronavirus. Health Officer Earl Stoner says it’s a woman in her 90’s who had no known pre-existing medical conditions.
“This a tragic loss and our hearts to go out to the family at this difficult time. It is absolutely critical that everyone is diligent in doing their part to help slow the spread of this virus in our community,”: says Stoner in a statement.
The Washington County Joint Information Center is urging residents to take precautions, and follow the directives issued by Governor Larry Hogan to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Citizens should also continue practicing social distancing, staying six feet or more away from other people. In addition, they should stay home and go out only for essential reasons. Also, disinfect commonly touched surfaces, and wash your hands frequently.
The Joint Information Center says as of Tuesday afternoon, , there are 95 confirmed cases of the coronaviris in Washington County.
