More than 12,300 cases
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) – The number of coronavirus cases in Maryland now exceeds 12,000 after a 1-day increase of more than 700.
Numbers reported Saturday by the Maryland Department of Health show more than 12,300 cases since the virus arrived in the state. The death toll from the virus jumped from 425 to 463.
Saturday’s increase of roughly 735 cases is largely in line with what the state has seen in recent days. In Maryland, the highest number of cases continues to be concentrated in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, just outside the nation’s capital. The two counties account for nearly half the cases in Maryland.
